Lately there has been a lot of rumblings on the internet about a possible Led Zeppelin album, and reunion tour. Jimmy Page and his manager want you to know these rumors are exactly that...RUMORS!
The band officially disbanded in December of 1980 after drummer John Bonham died in his sleep. Since then there have been a few reunion shows. Most notably in 2007 when the remaining trio and Bonham's son Jason played in London to benefit a record exec who had passed away. After that show Zep Guitarist Jimmy Page hit the media with news of a possible album, and tour. Led fans rejoiced as news of their idols reuniting spread through the world like an STD at a Pam Anderson swinger party.
Fast forward to last week, when Page's manager gave an interview with a British pub called Music Radar. The words he uttered were enough to break the hear of any Zep-head: "Led Zeppelin are over! If you didn't see them in 2007 [when they played a one-off reunion at London's O2 Arena], you missed them. It's done. I can't be any clearer than that." .
If you were ever curious about how a legend dies with zero grace, this is exhibit A.
