ABOUT THE GREASEMAN: Doug “the Greaseman” Tracht rose to legendary fame when he was a morning host on Jacksonville radio, and went on to highly successfuly gigs in Washington, DC, Atlanta, GA and Los Angeles.

The Greaseman’s trademark “uproarious” humor and stories will be the centerpiece of his show on ROCK 105.

“Grease is a natural fit into the line-up at Rock 105”, said ROCK 105 General Manager David Isreal. “There is no other personality in the history of Jacksonville radio that has left such an indelible mark on the sense of humor of the city.”

“After leaving Jacksonville, I have always wanted come back to that wonderful city,” The Greaseman said. “When Cox Radio Jacksonville called with a sudden opening on ROCK 105, I couldn’t refuse to come back to the people and city that I love. There was no hesitation. I have returned home.”

HOW IT ALL STARTED: When Doug arrived in Jacksonville in 1975, he was billed as a trucker turned DJ. He pulled his big rig over in front of the WAPE studios in Orange Park to audition for the morning man job. He got that job, and so the legend of "Uncle Greasy" began building a special bond with his Jacksonville audience.

Telling stories from the "Land of the Real Man" (that’s Grease-speak for Jacksonville) and getting in trouble with his daddy in Palatka, and “What it Must Be Like to Be a Lawman” are just some of the classics listeners will be able to hear on the Greaseman show. Or as best put by the “Grease” himself: “Tune in to ROCK 105 for Grease as you remember: wacky, creative, loving life and broadcasting with the mike gripped in a meaty fist!”
