Paintball's World Tour Makes Stop in Jacksonville
Event will be filmed for 13 episodes on FSN

After six years of touring the United States, the National Professional Paintball League is holding their first ever Jacksonville event in the Super 7 World Series of Paintball. 175 top paintball teams from around the world as well as our own back yard will be competing May 16 – 18, 2008 on five fields set up on the grounds outside of Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. The teams will be competing for $100,000.00 in prize money and the whole thing will be filmed for 13 episodes of Xtreme Paintball on Fox Sports Net.

7:30am to 8:00pm Friday & Saturday
8:00am to 6:00pm Sunday
ATTENDANCE: Admission is free for all activities except the center court grandstand seating on Saturday and Sunday. Get ticket details.

THE PAINTBALL:
* Divisional Paintball Play Friday and Saturday on Six Fields.
* Pro players will be signing Autographs on Friday.
* Saturday afternoon the top 18 pro teams will compete from 11 am to 5 pm.
* Sunday – finals day – 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Center Court
* Special Pump division will be play Sunday afternoon

After a very successful first season of the 13 episode docu-drama television series Xtreme Paintball: Beyond the Paint aired on Fox Sports Net this past fall, the league's popularity has gone platinum. The Professional Players featured in the television series are now recognized world-wide as idols for 12 – 22 year olds across the globe.

The #1 extreme sport in the nation with 9.97 million participants, Paintball is also the fastest growing extreme sport in the U.S. with a 44.0% growth from 2001 to 2006.

Paintball is a game based on the traditional format of Capture the Flag. The exciting Super 7 format matches two seven-man teams against each other on a field about the size of a tennis court with a number of inflated shapes that offer some cover to the players. Each game lasts a maximum of 7 minutes and whichever team eliminates the other and captures the opposing teams flag wins the entire match. The action is fast and furious.
